World Championship Belt Buckle Competition

hometextThe 4th annual World Championship Belt Buckle Competition is a juried online exhibition inviting all one-of-a-kind, handcrafted, wearable examples in the belt buckle format including western, modern, fashion, narrative and conceptual. Up to 60 finalists will be selected for the online gallery and an exhibition of prints at a MSU’s  Renne Library this summer.

The winning entry receives a cash prize and a World Champion Title Belt Buckle. This years title buckle will be made by the 2014 World Champion Buckle Maker Pat Pruitt of Paquate, NM. Pruitt will donate one of his amazing buckles for this years title prize!  His buckles are valued around $6,000!

This year’s Jury will be made up of MSU Assistant Professor of Metalsmithing, Bryan Petersen and Guest Juror and former 2014 finalist, Nash Quinn of Edinboro, PA. As part of the Event Quinn will be having an exhibition of his metalwork at the Exit Gallery from Sept. 19 -Oct. 7th with an opening reception Wed. September 21st. Quinn will also give an artist lecture on September 20, in Cheever 214 from 6-7 p.m. Read more about the ASMSU Exit Gallery events here.
