We are pleased to announce that Dr. Melissa Ragain has received a 2015 Arts Writers Grant from The Creative Capital | Andy Warhol Foundation to support the writing of her article, “Environmental Aesthetics in the Postwar University: Harvard’s Visual and Environmental Studies Program.” The Arts Writers Grant Program is designed to support writing about contemporary art, as well as to create a broader audience for arts writing. The program aims to strengthen the field as a whole and to ensure that critical writing remains a valued mode of engaging the visual arts. Congratulations Dr. Ragain on this prestigious award!
In addition, Studio Art major, Adeline Celenza was awarded an Emerging Scholars Grant from the MSU Office of the Vice President for Student Success. This grant supports her role as MSU ambassador to the 2015 Creative Time Summit, “The Curriculum,” in New York City. Each year, the Creative Time Summit explores the many ways in which artists are tackling the world’s most challenging social and political issues. Innovative artists, activists, writers, and curators take the Summit stage to present bold new strategies for social change to a global audience. Cheers to you Adeline! Keep up the good work!
