“Ways of Seeing” Lecture by Mette Juul Sondergaard

“Ways of Seeing” Public Lecture on Tuesday 15 January, 5:30 – 7 pm, Cheever Hall Room 215 by the School of Art’s Spring 2013 International Artist in Residence (iAIR). Ms. Sondergaard is a Danish artist who has studied at the Glasgow School of Art (Scotland), the Royal College of Art (England), Kunst Akademi Weissensee (Berlin), School of the Art Institute of Chicago (USA) and the Funen Academy of Fine Arts (Denmark). She has taught and exhibited extensively at an international level and is the recipient of various grants and scholarships throughout Europe. She has taught at the European Film College (Denmark), Parsons New School (New York), Centro Fotografico Alvarez Bravo (Mexico), Fatamorgana (Denmark), Rospohoto (Russia), and Pingyao Fotofestival in China.
The iAIR program at MSU Bozeman’s School of Art was created in 2011 to foster an environment of international artistic exchange while providing a rich working experience for the artist to practice and grow. The School of Art strives to cultivate a dialogue between the international art community and the community of Bozeman, Montana.
Mette Juul will be in residence at the School of Art through the end of February 2013. Her artwork is concerned with issues around photography, the archive and memory.
